The government did not support the decision of the National Commission responsible for state regulation in the fields of energy and utilities (NEURC) to increase tariffs for centralized water supply and sanitation.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal in Telegram.
“Decisions are not acceptable. Decisions are not agreed with the Government. During the war, we must act as a single team, especially in such sensitive areas as energy and tariff setting,” Shmyhal said.
In addition, the Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Energy and the Ministry of Infrastructure to conduct additional consultations with the NEURC on the possibility of reviewing such decisions.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure social justice. We are increasing pensions. We are paying subsidies to everyone who needs them. We are helping the regions to maintain constant tariffs for heat and hot water. While uncoordinated decisions of the commission run counter to government policy,” Shmyhal added. .
