Government Bans Cooking Oil Exports Starting April 28

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo announced ban raw material export cooking oil and oil goreng.

“Today I have chaired a meeting on meeting the people’s basic needs, especially those related to the availability of cooking oil in the country,” Jokowi said in a video caption on Friday (22/4/2022).

“At the meeting, I decided that the government would prohibit the export of raw materials for cooking oil and cooking oil starting Thursday, April 28, 2022 until a time limit will be determined later,” he said.

The President said that he would continue to monitor and evaluate this prohibition policy.

The government wants the availability of cooking oil to be abundant again in the market.

“So that the availability of cooking oil in the country is abundant at affordable prices,” he added.
