The Council of Ministers has approved a line of financing of 25 million euros to reguarantee agricultural credits and a contribution of 141,200 euros to international organizations and programs.
He Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) has indicated in a statement that funds are being made available to reguarantee the guarantees granted by the State Agrarian Surety Society (Saeca) with the aim of facilitating access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agri-food and fishing sector.
Saeca will thus have a loan of 25 million euros over 20 years, so that the total credit re-guaranteed by the measure reaches 250 million euros, with which the total financed operations may rise to 312.5 million euros.
Beneficiaries include agri-food cooperatives and SMEs, operators in the fishing sector, irrigation communities and other entities related to these sectors.
In addition, the Government has authorized MAPA to make four contributions totaling 141,200 euros to different international organizations and programs of an agricultural, livestock and fishing nature, and of interest to Spain.
In particular, 6,000 euros are allocated to the Aquaculture Advisory Council, which came into operation under the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) and seeks to encourage the participation of the fishing sector in the preparation and management of said policy.
The Important World Agricultural Heritage Systems (Sipam), an initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), will receive a contribution of 75,000 euros.
