Government Approves Extension of Framework Agreement for Vaccine Acquisition

At the proposal of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, headed by Minister Nabila Benzina, the Governing Council has authorized this Tuesday the extension, for a period of one year, of the Framework Agreement with the Ministry of Health for the acquisition of vaccines.

In this way, explained the Government spokesman, Alejandro Ramírez, at the end of the weekly meeting between the president and councillors, the City maintains a membership that was formalized for the first time more than a decade ago, which has allowed the centralized purchase of vaccines, with which the aim is to reduce the costs of the vaccination program.

With this extension, the forecast is that some 17,900 doses of the following vaccines will be purchased: Hexavalent against hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, acellular whooping cough, inactivated poliomyelitis and Haemophilus influenzae type b conjugate; diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis, and inactivated poliomyelitis; diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis, reduced antigenic content; diphtheria and tetanus, of reduced antigenic content; hepatitis A for pediatric age and adults; measles, rubella and mumps; chickenpox; meningococcus C and against groups A, C, Y and W.

The Executive spokesman also recalled that the latest update of the vaccine schedule was published in the BOCCE on May 23, this being a fundamental part of the health programs to protect and promote the health of the population.
