Government appoints Donald Castillo Gallegos as new president of Corpac

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications, through the National Fund for Financing State Business Activity (Fonafe), appointed Donald Hildebrando Iván Castillo Gallegos as president of the board of directors of the Peruvian Corporation of Airports and Commercial Aviation (Corpac), replacing Roberto Emilio de la Torre Aguayo.

«Through Board Agreement No. 001-2024/004-FONAFE adopted in the Non-Personal Session No. 004-2024 held on March 26, 2024, it was agreed to appoint Mr. Donald Hildebrando Iván Castillo Gallegos to the position of director of the company Peruvian Airports and Commercial Aviation Corporation – CORPAC, representing the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.

As recalled, De la Torre Aguayo was questioned for the flight delay that affected thousands of passengers at the Jorge Chávez International Airport, located in Lima, last February.

Until the day before, Castillo Gómez held the position as head of the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC), in charge of surveillance, supervision and oversight of compliance with safety standards and the provision of air navigation services. He grants, validates and renews the technical suitability certificates of aeronautical personnel and material, aeronautical operators and other related parties.
