At the dawn of the 21st Balade gourmande, which will be presented on October 2, 3, 9 and 10, the board of directors took advantage of the postponement of the 2020 event to see to the complete overhaul of the general regulations and the composition of its board of directors, which now includes a majority of processing producers working in the agri-tourism sector.
Note that the new regulations now include a category of non-voting members reserved for sectoral seats and present on the board of directors.
Martin Garneau, president, confirms that “the general regulations, in an evolutionary perspective, represent the guide of its internal management. The Board of Directors is also of the opinion that they constitute a determining document in order to properly represent each of the sectors and categories of members participating in the event. This new governance is a good illustration of the maturity of the organization ”.
Thus, on Thursday, a first Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held to fill four directorships, following a process of voluntary nominations:
Hélène Larouche: Ferme les Deux L (producer);
Andrée-Anne Fréchette: Rosé Mignon – Meats, Cold cuts and Abattoir (producer);
Isabelle Millet: Gîtes with shared pleasures (accommodation).
The new directors will join the 2020-2021 board of directors:
Martin Garneau: Restaurant Le Luxor (restaurateur);
Marie-Ève Goyer: Aux Petits Plaisirs (producer);
Bruno Guérard: La Pintarade (producer);
René Bougie: La Miellerie King – Distillery B (producer).
Sector members:
Steeve Gagné: delegate, Tourisme Victoriaville and its region;
Dominic Poulin: delegate, Commissioner for agricultural development Victoriaville and its region;
Carl Robidoux: delegate, agricultural development advisor MRC de L’Érable.
“We wish the directors a mandate filled with new and enriching experiences in a common desire to pursue the mission of its builders: to promote regional products through an exceptional agrotourism experience,” concludes Martin Garneau.
