The drummer from the band of the late singer Karel Gott, Jan Žižka († 67), who has been fighting the covid since the end of January, has died. The sad news was announced by his wife Olivia. She admitted on social networks on Wednesday that she was behind him in the hospital. But she didn’t get to him because of the temperature. Her husband died on Thursday night. At least she sent her husband a touching message in heaven.
“Friends, we’ve both had a week. We’re completely out.” This January 30 report is the last one Jan Žižka posted on his Facebook profile. Since then, the musician’s condition has deteriorated sharply – so much so that he had to be transferred to the ARO a few days later. He ended up in artificial sleep.
His wife hoped the drummer would win her life. On Wednesday, after 7 pm, she informed the fans on social networks that it looked bad with Jan Žižka. “The doctor called me to say that his condition had gotten much worse, that there was a general sepsis of the body, that is, blood poisoning. There was kidney failure and initial failure of other organs.” described in the published video.
The doctor allegedly asked her to come and say goodbye. However, when she arrived at the hospital, her temperature was measured. “I didn’t get to him because of the temperature,” she admitted that the nurse did not even recommend her to visit her husband. “He looks the worst the whole time he’s there,” Olivia explained.
Her husband was given another antibiotic for the evening. Meanwhile, at home in the room she had previously prepared for his return, she was waiting for news from the hospital. In the end, unfortunately, her worst fears were confirmed. Antibiotics didn’t work. She said goodbye to her husband through social networks.
“My dear. Since you are already in good hands upstairs with your family and your loved ones, it is quite clear to me that you will not take your eyes off me and wait there for me. My life of 20 years with you has been wonderful, beautiful, sometimes exciting but I’m happy you gave me the only school and education, “ she said.
She added that it never occurred to her that she would fulfill her life wishes. That he would marry her or that they would raise their son Peter together. “That we will experience so many spicy, funny, loving, but also dramatic moments together that we could have an 18-year-old daughter Karin together and that you chose me such a beautiful name and had it officially renamed Olivia. But mainly that you will not only be my husband , but also my dad, whom I needed so much my whole life … You are so deep in my heart, in my thoughts, that a piece of me has gone with you, “ she said.
At the same time, she hoped that one day they would meet again. “Wait there for me, hold my place and watch me as before … Don’t take your eyes off me. You know very well that without You I am only a piece of a large child,” she said.
Only now is she said to have started reading his book and wants to remember him with the movies and music he loved. The last farewell will be in the spirit he wanted. “I know you didn’t want a public farewell, only you and me … Do you have so many friends, fans, comrades …? Ok. I’ll respect that too. I’ll be nice and I’ll take care of our dogs and write a song for you. My love of life Thanks for everything, I’m looking forward to seeing you again, as in our video “I LOVE YOU, YOUR Wife Olivia,” she concluded.
Žižka became famous as a versatile musician. He played with Karel Gott for 25 years and was also at the birth of the Prague selection.
Jan Žižka published the book Golden Years with Karel Gott.
