“Film.klasse.südniedersachsen” – this is the name of the new short film festival from Peloton, Filmbüro Göttingen, and TV journalists Marco Schulze and Theresa Möckel. The festival is looking for “creative ideas from young people” between “6 and 29 years of age”, according to the initiators’ appeal. Between July 1 and August 15, interested parties can make and submit films of a maximum length of nine minutes on the subject of “crisis management”. The best films are awarded prizes.
How the respective film takes up the topic is up to everyone, say the initiators. You can film alone or in a group. It is important that the films are produced in landscape format. According to Peloton, the jury consists of “film experts from southern Lower Saxony”, including Tim Asch, young actor, radio play voice and Heinz Erhardt expert, Theresa Möckel, freelance television journalist and film college graduate, Marco Schulze, also a freelance television journalist and film college graduate, Sven Schreivogel, journalist and radio play producer and founder of the Goettingen film office, Alexander Siebrecht, stage technician, contributor to film and radio play productions and employee of the Goettingen film office, and actress Katharina Brehl. The project is supported by the Göttinger FilmNetzwerk, the city of Göttingen, the LAG Jugend und Film association, the Göttingen Young Theater (JT) and Klartext.
Support during the shoot is possible
To support this, there will be free workshops on the topics of acting, camera / sound and conception / editing. The acting workshop will be led by Agnes Giese from the JT on July 10th. Sven Schreivogel from Filmbüro Göttingen as well as Möckel and Schulze give the workshops on camera and sound on July 17th. The Göttingen Film Network wants to reveal helpful tips and tricks for conception / editing. According to the initiators, anyone who does not have their own film equipment can borrow the technology they need from the Göttingen, Northeim and Holzminden district media centers.
To win: “Unique prizes”
The finished short films are to be rated by the jury in three age categories, up to 10, up to 18 and up to 29 years. A premiere is planned for September 11th this year at the University Cinema in Göttingen. The best films in the age categories are to be awarded “unique prizes”.
