In Monday’s all-around match against Serbia in Halmstad, Sweden suffered a double defeat. Game engine Jim Gottfridsson left the arena with a bandaged calf and defensive giant Oscar Bergendahl had a sore shoulder.
Reassuring news came the day before the WC premiere in Gothenburg. Both players trained in the morning and according to national team doctor Daniel Jerrhag, national team captain Glenn Solberg has all the players available against Brazil.
– Jim had a small bleed in his calf, but it happens in almost every match. Even in Oscar’s case, he looked worse than he was and both players were able to give their all in training, says Jerrhag.
