In our country, Gothic is one of the games to which most players have a very sentimental relationship, because in short, it often belongs to the titles they were allowed to grow up with. Therefore, the announcement of Gothic 1 Remake made a lot of people extremely excited, but they liked the presented demo a little less, which was very different from what players have associated with this game. The community was therefore quite critical, leading the game’s director Reinhard Pollice to address the criticism for DualShockers magazine. In the interview, he practically indicated that the demo was made in such a way as to arouse the reactions of the fans, so that a number of inaccuracies were simply created intentionally in order to get feedback.
It’s an interesting strategy, but according to the reactions on Steam, it’s the right one, because it really stirred up the calm waters surrounding the Gothic 1 Remake demo. However, the creators claim that apart from this controversial aspect, the story and overall game world should be faithful to what the original Gothic presented. So will the factions inhabiting this universe. The new feature will be the improved AI of all colony residents. It can definitely be considered interesting that the battle system is supposed to be close to Kingdom Come: Deliverance or the action series Chivalry in some aspects. Gothic 1 Remake doesn’t have an exact release date yet. The game should arrive at PCPS5 and Xbox Series X/S throughout 2024.
With a bigger, more detailed world and a brand bew prologue, the Gothic Remake is looking real nice.
