It looks like a soap opera or movie, but it happened: perhaps a twin brother was executed “by mistake” in Brooklyn (NYC).
Vincent Iacono was found dead on Thursday, June 10, in a residential bathroom in Brooklyn shortly before 11 a.m. with a needle and a package of drugs next to him, in a apparent overdose, the day before turning 40.
But NYPD suspect there is something behind this story, since the victim has a identical twin brother -Louie Iacono- who is in prison because he supposedly killed a mobster partner of the Gambino “family”.
The ‘Cosa Nostra’ works through entities known as “families”, which in New York are five: Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, Genovese and Luchese. Despite being separate entities, the members collaborate with each other in criminal activities.
Apparently Vincent had been leading a quiet life lately and had been working as a caretaker for a person in the apartment where his body was found in Canarsie. But a few years ago it was declared guilty of tampering with physical evidence in the murder by Carmine Carini Jr., son of a partner in the Gambino crime family, in August 2017.
Vincent spent 15 months behind bars before being released on parole on July 28, 2020, according to prison records. To complete this bizarre story, his twin was the supposed murderer of Carini Jr., at hit him over the head with a hammer for a drug dispute.
Then the twins would have used duct tape to wrap the body in a blue tarp and place cement blocks on his legs so that he would sink before throwing him into the guide, in Jamaica Bay, Long Island. The body was found floating days later.
The twins ran away, but they were finally caught by police in Indiana in November 2017. The murder case against Louie is still pending, court records show, he said. New York Post.
In February 2020 he died Joseph Gambino, legendary mobster from ‘La Cosa Nostra’ in New York’s Fashion District. “We don’t call the police, we take care of ourselves”, it was the motto of their businesses.
