What are gorillas?
Gorillas* is a Food delivery service. Unlike other delivery services such as Amazon Fresh* or Rewe supplies*, your order will be here delivered immediately – Gorillas advertises with a delivery in only ten minutes. So you don’t have to select a delivery window in advance and then be at home during this period. Instead, your order will come (more or less) immediately. Several warehouses in different parts of the city and a fleet of numerous bicycle couriers make it possible.
How does the Gorillas app work?
In order to use the service, you need the Gorillas-App for iOS or Android*. You can download the application in the respective app store, fill out your profile with your address, your contact details and your preferred payment method and then put together your order in the digital supermarket. The food can be either delivered to your apartment or to your current location be.
How much does gorillas cost?
The Gorillas app and membership are free*. However, for each delivery, one Delivery fee of 1.80 Euro to. You also have the option to enter a password directly in the app Tip to leave for the courier or the courier. We recommend: Depending on the size of the order, this service should be worth at least 2.00 euros tip – especially in case of rain, extreme heat or cold. The food delivery service is now in 25 German metropolitan areas available. Selection: What is the range of gorillas?
The assortment of Gorillas* includes almost all products of daily use. These include Food, Household items and Drugstore products (also for babies). There are, among other things, fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, meat, snacks and convenience food such as frozen pizza. Above all, the large selection of vegan products such as milk alternatives, spreads and meat substitutes. In addition, there are drinks and alcohol. Our purely subjective assessment: the selection of gorillas is smaller than that of supermarket delivery services such as Rewe supplies* or also Amazon Fresh*. Nevertheless, we still found everything we were looking for in gorillas.
Is Gorillas more expensive than traditional supermarkets and delivery services?
A big advantage of Gorillas*: You pay normal supermarket prices. In this respect, Gorillas is not more expensive than conventional supermarkets. The only extra charge will be for the delivery fee and, if applicable, the tip. There are almost no gorillas exclusively branded productswhich are inherently more expensive than the own brands of supermarkets or food from the discount store. This makes gorillas feel a little more expensive – especially if you usually shop at Lidl or Aldi.

How fast are gorillas really?
We tested the service with a gorillas warehouse at a distance of about 300 meters as the crow flies. The delivery service in most cases, within the advertised ten minutes deliver. At the beginning of the year we drove a test with a slightly longer distance, which is why we sometimes also about 20 minutes we had to wait for our order. We waited the longest for our groceries during a snowstorm in January 2021: 36 minutes. However, as compensation for the (still reasonable waiting time), the friendly customer service of Gorillas has independently credited the delivery fee.
Does gorillas also have disadvantages?
We use gorillas several times a week and are big fans of the service. But there is also a small drawback, which we have noticed more than once. So it may be that groceries are still in stock in the app, but in the time between ordering and packing the shopping bag are sold out. This is annoying, especially if this one food was the reason for the order. If something like this happens, however, the customer service always writes a sweet card and the The amount for the sold-out product will be refunded in the app.
