GORE will invest $2,296 million in the purchase of 51 new vehicles – La Discusión

Today Thursday April 27th Carabineros turns 96 years old. And within the framework of this new anniversary, the Regional Council unanimously approved, in its extraordinary session n°50, the investment of $2,296,951,000 for the acquisition of 51 police vehicles for the XVI Zone of Carabineros Ñuble.

During the session, which was attended by the head of the XVI Ñuble Carabineros Zone, General María Teresa Araya, it was explained that the vehicles correspond to 20 vans, 29 vans and two mobile checkpoints, which will be assigned to various operational barracks. and certain specialized units, such as GOPE and Labocar, in order to contribute to police services in the region.

The regional governor, Óscar Crisóstomo, highlighted the Regional Council’s support for this initiative and emphasized that “it is an investment that reinforces the security measures that we have to have in Ñuble. We have said it, our police officers in the region are always ready to work, but many times they lack some tools to be able to deploy in a much better way and we understand that this project comes to remedy that real need, therefore, this Regional Council, The Regional Government is committed to the security of our Region of Ñuble and today (yesterday) we have clearly stated it in this extraordinary session (…) We are convinced that what we have approved, without a doubt, will help them a lot in the tasks that they do on a daily basis.”

The head of the XVI Zone of Carabineros Ñuble expressed that “this was a great session for us, it is great news not only for Carabineros de Chile, but also for the region and its 21 communes, because all this rolling resource is going to deploy all police services, both ordinary and extraordinary, to precisely absorb both emerging and current needs. It is effective that the incorporation of this logistical equipment is essential to deploy the human resources that are necessary to offer higher levels of surveillance to the citizenry”
