GoTo Financial has officially launched the GoPay application nationwide today. This means that GoPay now has its own application separate from the GoJek and Tokopedia super app.
The GoPay application can now be downloaded through the Android and iOS app stores. It can also be used in all cities across Indonesia.
“The application has been available in several cities in Indonesia as part of a trial. GoPay digital is the largest domestic wallet in Indonesia. This is a major part of GoTo’s strategy in providing integrated digital financial services for Indonesia,” said GoTo CEO Patrick Walujo at GoLearn Pasaraya Blok M, Jakarta, on Wednesday (26/7/2023).
He explained that the application was created to reach a wider audience in Indonesia, especially those who are not yet consumers or users of GoJek and Tokopedia. He hopes that this application will be the first step for users to become customers of GoJek and Tokopedia.
Although GoPay now has its own application, it does not mean that this digital wallet is separated from GoJek and Tokopedia. GoPay services can still be found and used in the GoJek and Tokopedia applications.
Previously, the Director and President of GoTo Financial explained that the launch of the GoPay application was solely aimed at targeting untapped markets. For example, people who need access to financial services but do not require GoJek or Tokopedia services.
“For example, the working class who may have had difficulties sending money to their families in rural areas. With the GoPay application, they can easily send money, either to other GoPay users or to bank accounts,” he explained.
He further explained that the GoPay application was designed with a deliberately simple interface. The goal is to make it easy for GoPay users to utilize the available features, such as sending money, purchasing credit, paying bills, buying entertainment and game vouchers, and making payments using QRIS.
What’s interesting is that transfers to any bank through GoPay are currently free of charge. This free transfer promotion is valid for 100 transfers within one month.
The application also features a detailed expenditure record for users. There is a graph that shows the fluctuation of expenses each week. It also provides information on the highest expenditure categories, such as transportation, bills, food purchases, and online shopping. The expenditure history is neatly organized.
In addition, GoPay is planning to become a separate application from GoJek in the future. This move aims to provide a more focused and dedicated user experience for GoPay users.
Overall, the launch of the GoPay application marks a significant step for GoTo Financial in expanding its digital financial services and reaching a wider audience in Indonesia.
How does the integration of GoPay within the GoJek and Tokopedia super app contribute to a seamless user experience across platforms?
Ts own standalone application, users can still access GoPay within the GoJek and Tokopedia super app. This integration allows for seamless transactions and a cohesive user experience across platforms.
GoPay has been growing rapidly in popularity and usage since its launch. It offers a wide range of digital financial solutions, including mobile payments, peer-to-peer transfers, and bill payments. With its expansion nationwide, GoPay aims to provide financial services to even more Indonesians, facilitating greater convenience and accessibility.
As part of GoTo’s overall strategy, the launch of the GoPay application marks an important milestone in its goal of providing comprehensive digital financial services in Indonesia. With GoPay digital wallet being the largest domestic wallet in the country, GoTo aims to solidify its position as a key player in the Indonesian fintech industry.
By targeting a wider audience beyond GoJek and Tokopedia users, the GoPay application opens up new opportunities for GoTo to attract and convert non-users into loyal customers. The hope is that this standalone application will serve as an entry point for users to explore the full range of services offered by GoJek and Tokopedia, further bolstering GoTo’s ecosystem.
With the launch of the GoPay application, GoTo demonstrates its commitment to innovation and providing integrated digital solutions for Indonesia. By offering a separate application, GoPay seeks to enhance user experience, expand its reach, and solidify its position as a leader in the Indonesian digital payment industry.
This is a great move by GoPay to launch a standalone app nationwide. With this expansion, GoTo Financial is making it easier for users to access and utilize the GoPay app, regardless of whether they use GoJek or Tokopedia. Exciting times ahead for their users!
