Google launches its GNI Startups Lab program in Uruguay (in search of journalistic projects)

Google officially opened the call for its GNI Startups Lab program for Uruguay and Peru. The initiative, carried out in collaboration with LooksAverageaims to promote innovative journalistic projects.

The program is developed through a 10-week virtual training designed by Google News Initiative, which will include training, mentoring and exchanges with professionals who will instruct participants in the journalistic world, business models, ethical challenges, among other aspects. .

After the training is completed, Google will provide funds for each participant to create a minimum viable product to be published.

To register, those interested must complete a form in which they will detail an idea or project that they would like to carry out during the program. You will have time to sign up until December 2 at 11:59 p.m., local time, through the following link Google News Initiative.

This is the first time that Google opens the call for Uruguay and Peru, after having carried out editions in other countries from which more than 50 new media or journalistic startups have emerged.
