According to the website DownDetector, through which people can report problems, the problems appeared around noon on Wednesday, and they affected the search engine Google and the virtual storage Google Drive.
Users in the United States, United Kingdom, parts of Europe, South America or Asia have reported problems. The Daily Mail noted that it was unclear how many users of the tech giant were affected by the outage and what caused it.
For example, the Americans encountered problems in New York or San Francisco, the British reported them from the largest Scottish city of Glasgow or the university city of Cambridge. A message about a server error appeared on the screens.
About 64 percent of the problem reports on DownDetector were related to the Google Search engine, 30 percent to the web service, and only six percent to the Google Drive virtual storage.
