“Google Fixes Voice Command Issue in Gemini Android App”

Google has addressed a major issue with its Gemini Android app, which serves as a replacement for Google Assistant. Upon its initial release, users found it frustrating that they had to manually send or submit voice commands. However, Google has now rectified this problem, much to the relief of Gemini users.

Previously, when using voice commands on the Gemini app, users had to press the submit button. After making a request, the mic indicator would continue spinning before eventually stopping a few seconds later. It was at this point that users realized they needed to tap the send arrow to complete the command.

This extra step not only added a few seconds to voice interactions, but it also felt outdated considering the prevalence of voice assistants in our daily lives. After years of using voice assistants that automatically process commands, having to manually signal that you’re done speaking seemed archaic.

Fortunately, Google has resolved this issue. As of Saturday, voice commands sent via the overlay panel (accessed through the power button, corner swipe, or “Hey Google” activation) and the full Gemini app are now automatically sent without the need for manual submission. Additionally, the app is now much quicker at recognizing when the user has finished speaking.

It appears that this fix was implemented on the server side, and it’s commendable that the Gemini team prioritized addressing this regression in the voice send/submit feature. In addition to this fix, Google also released a small update to the Gemini app and shortcut on Friday.

Gemini is an Android app developed by Google that serves as an alternative to Google Assistant. It provides users with voice command capabilities and aims to enhance the overall user experience. With this recent fix, Gemini has become even more efficient and user-friendly.

In conclusion, Google has successfully resolved the issue of manual voice command submission in its Gemini Android app. Users can now enjoy a seamless experience with automatic voice command processing. This improvement demonstrates Google’s commitment to providing a top-notch user experience and further solidifies Gemini as a reliable alternative to Google Assistant.
