(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 16 – Google.org, the philanthropic arm of the technological giant, allocates 1.5 million euros in Italy to the Fund for the Digital Republic “to train people in difficult and vulnerable situations, offering the opportunity to acquire valuable skills in the field of artificial intelligence in specific Made in Italy sectors, facilitating their insertion into the local economic fabric”. The announcement took place during the AI Connect event in Milan in which Anna Koivuniemi, head of the Google DeepMind Impact Accelerator, an offshoot of the laboratory which includes two of the three Nobel Prizes for Chemistry awarded in recent days, also spoke. Demis Hassabis and John M. Jumper. During the event, five Italian organizations were also awarded 1 million euros allocated by Google.org in April with the support of the AI Opportunity Fund. The beneficiaries are Federturismo Confindustria, Fondazione Progeo Arca/Progeo Mirasole, SheTech Ets, BeerSocial soc. coop. and La Rotonda Social Promotion Association. (HANDLE).
