Goodbye Yahoo! Mobile – Selular.ID

Jakarta, Selular.ID – In the United States, Yahoo Mobile is a mobile network virtual operator (MVNO) company that sells its services with the support of the Verizon network.

Last month, Verizon announced it would sell its media group, which includes AOL and Yahoo’s property and website brands. As a result of the sale, the Yahoo Mobile network was closed.

As an operator, the Yahoo Mobile network is not very popular and the selection of devices is quite limited. New page on company website explained that “Verizon has decided to sell the Yahoo brand separately and as a result, Yahoo Mobile operations will be discontinued.”

Current Yahoo Mobile subscribers have until August 31st to transfer their phone number to another carrier but in some cases “individual lines may end earlier depending on your monthly service cycle.”

Customers can extend one more month after June 16, after which the service will end when the month is up. AutoPay accounts will only be charged until July 16th.

Visible is another Verizon MVNO network that runs on the same infrastructure, meaning devices purchased through Yahoo Mobile will be able to run on Visible or Verizon. The page mentions that other carriers may be compatible, but customers should check first.

Yahoo Mobile says users have 60 days after account closure to transfer numbers. Customers can check the Yahoo Mobile Goodbye page for instructions on how to transfer numbers.
