New name and new app
According to Electronic Arts, the Origin app will soon be renamed to EA Desktop, and the publisher is preparing a new version of the software for players.
EA Desktop will have a new interface with a lot of social focus. Electronic Arts also announces faster download speeds, better organization in the game library, and an improved update installation process.
The app is currently in beta testing and no release date has been announced. After updating, all data associated with your existing Origin account will be preserved.
Recall that on August 18, Electronic Arts changed the names of EA Access and Origin Access to EA Play, and the Origin Access Premier subscription to EA Play Pro.
