Previously, some time ago the European Union Commission and European countries tried to pass the rules for standardizing the USB Type C port.
With this rule, the entire charging interface of mobile phones, tablets and headphone must use this type of port.
Since the majority of Android devices currently use a USB Type-C port, what happens to Apple, which still uses Lightning?
Previously, Apple opposed the EU’s use of USB Type-C unification. But the company released iPad and Mac with USB Type C port.
Now, some information says Apple seems to be following these rules by releasing an iPhone with a USB Type-C port.
Regarding this, leaker @LeaksApplePro said, Apple will embed a USB Type-C port on the iPhone 15 Pro.
Citing LeaksApplePro’s tweet, Tuesday (14/6/2022), the iPhone 15 will be Apple’s last phone model to use a Lightning port.
He also mentioned, Apple will use USB Type C or without a port on the iPhone 16 series.
Previously, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also said, Apple will abandon the Lightning port in the second half of 2023 and switch to a USB Type-C port.
This news is also reinforced by information revealed by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. He said, Apple is testing the iPhone using USB Type-C.
