On Thursday morning, the snow could again be seen falling from the sky in Oslo’s streets, but this will probably be the last you see of snow in Eastern Norway at Easter.
This is what meteorologist on duty at the Meteorological Institute, Magnus Haukeland, told NTB on Thursday morning.
– The question is whether this will settle down. If you go out towards the coast, the precipitation comes in the form of rain or sleet. At the same time, the weather looks quite promising for the coming days.
Only one other place does Haukeland think it will be a wet Maundy Thursday, at least from the weather side.
– There are some showers in North-West Norway, but otherwise there is a lot of fine weather in the rest of the country.
Further north in the country, including in Tromsø, some precipitation is also expected.
– The precipitation will come as rain, but the temperature is only three degrees, so you probably won’t go very far up in altitude before you get snow here too.
Good conditions for boat cleaning
Also in the coming days, it looks like the weather will be good in southern Norway.
– There is a lot of good weather ahead. In southern Norway, it is indicated that the temperature will be 10 degrees, which will be good conditions for those who intend to polish their boat at Easter.
– Who would you say is the weather winner at Easter?
– It must probably be West Norway. In addition to getting a lot of sun, they will escape the rain on Thursday.
– Like sitting in a greenhouse
For anyone who plans to use the quiet week to sit in the sun wall and sunbathe, a moderate UV warning has been sent.
When the sun reflects in the snow, the effect will still be far stronger than usual.
– It’s like sitting in a greenhouse. In any case, it is important to top up with sunscreen, says the meteorologist.
