Good Samaritans Save Woman Pushed onto Subway Tracks by Suspect in New York City

NEW YORK — A woman is miraculously alive thanks to good Samaritans who helped her after she was pushed onto subway tracks by a suspect Tuesday night, New York City Police said.

According to information from the authorities, the 34-year-old victim was waiting for a train on lines 1, 2, 3 on the platform of the Chambers Street, in Lower Manhattan, at about 11:11 p.m., when the suspect pushed her onto the train tracks.

At that moment, other passengers helped her and managed to get her onto the platform. The woman was taken to the hospital with leg injuries and scratches on parts of her body.

The suspect was arrested Thursday, according to police. He was identified as Samuel Junker, 41, of White Plains. Junker faces felony assault charges as a result of the incident.

The attack would have been without provocation and without any exchange of words, according to the police.
