Good News, Researchers Identify Two Drugs to Treat Covid-19, What are they?

Today there is a glimmer of hope.

This is after researcheran published in Science Advances.

According to them, a team led by the researcher from the Milner Therapeutics Institute and the University of Cambridge’s Gurdon Institute, identified 200 approved drugs that are predicted to work against COVID-19.

Tim researcherThis study uses a combination of computational biology and machine learning to create a comprehensive map of the proteins involved in SARS-CoV-2 infection — from proteins that help the virus enter host cells to proteins produced as a result of infection.

By examining this network using an artificial intelligence (AI) approach, researcher can identify key proteins involved in infection, as well as biological pathways that drugs might target.

To date, most small-molecule and -molecule approaches antibody to treat Covid-19 are drugs that are currently the subject of clinical trials or have gone through clinical trials and have been approved.

Much of the focus is on fighting the primary virus or host target, or stopping inflammation—where drug treatment can be used as an intervention.

Launching Medical Xpress, the team used computer modeling to conduct an examination of nearly 2,000 approved drugs and identified 200 approved drugs that could be effective against Covid-19.
