Against Argentina this Sunday (16:00) in the 2022 World Cup final, France can count on a full group. There are no new virus cases among the 24 players.
The 2022 World Cup final between France and Argentina kicks off in a few hours (16:00). At noon all is well on the side of the Blues, who had lunch before 11:00. Pasta or rice, mashed potatoes, chicken or fish… the menu was the same as the quarters. Then comes the time for the traditional pre-game nap. The news is above all positive given that there are no new cases of the virus among Didier Deschamps’ 24 players.

The whole group
Despite everything, the medical staff remain very attentive, for the last little sores that are not likely to prevent some players from keeping their seats for this great match. As RMC Sport explained, Olivier Giroud, like many of his team-mates, feels in particular small inconveniences that derive from the sequence of top-level matches played since the beginning of the season. He’s not the only one here and that won’t stop him from claiming a place in the starting lineup. The choice will fall on Deschamps, who will therefore be able to count on a full group.
The group’s 24 players were present at the collective session on Saturday, including the three elements who had been ill and absent the day before: Raphaël Varane, Ibrahima Konaté and Kingsley Coman. There were also Théo Hernandez and Aurélien Tchouaméni, spared on Friday. “We make sure to take as many precautions as possible, to adapt, to face it without exaggerating from one side to the other,” Deschamps explained at a press conference on Saturday morning, referring to “different situations that are not similar” according to the players.
