“We applied immune plasma treatment to our patient with plasmapheresis 3.5 days ago. This treatment is a very promising method. It is an additional treatment to other treatments. When we evaluate the patient, the first thing we look at is if we give a new treatment, did it have side effects, negative effects, we look at it. When we look at it from this point of view, there was no negative effect on our patient, there was no reaction. There was no effect worsening the patient’s condition, we reaffirmed that it was safe. “
“WE WILL APPLY TO MORE PATIENTS”
Professor Dr. Kızılay stated that they are experienced in plasma treatment and this has been applied in different treatments before, and said:
“We received positive signs from our patient. There are signs of partial improvement in both blood parameters and lung capacity and findings. It is incomplete to generalize our results with a patient, we will apply it to more patients. This is a treatment that we are very hopeful for. Because immune plasma treatment has been (KKKA), a successful treatment for viral infections such as ebola virus, SARS, MERS.We apply 4 to 5 thousand plasmapheresis treatments to different patients in one year at our Turgut Özal Medical Center and we get very positive results. We applied the accumulated experience here to the corona virus. we will continue to administer the treatment as long as appropriate plasma donors are available. “

“MASTER KEY PLASMA DONOR”
Rector stated that the important factor in the treatment is plasma donor and continued his words as follows:
“I want to emphasize that the main key is plasma donation. Our healed corona virus patients can be plasma donors from the time they fully heal, since the tests are negative. I invite these group patients to give plasma. Let us come to another big apheresis centers, let them go, let them give plasma there they where close. the plasma will be prepared, plasmapheresis combined with other treatments that would benefit the conviction we bring to patients and can be applied to these patients in other centers. We have launched the first in the center of our experience thus Turkey. in this method, we continue to pursue as supportive therapy. Donors have both healed themselves and they will help other patients heal by giving plasma. ”

CALL TO DONORS
Pointing out that there is no harm in plasma donation, Kızılay said, “We invited our donor to give plasma again after 10 days a week. Just like our health army is fighting corona virus on the front, trying to treat patients, being a plasma donor is a great support to this army, it means healing our patients. ” he spoke.
Rector Prof. Dr. Red Crescent added that citizens should strictly comply with all measures taken in order not to be exposed to an epidemic.
