Good news for winter sports enthusiasts: Lots of snow in the Alpine villages from Sunday | Abroad

Due to the warm start of the year in Europe, the slopes are almost completely cleared of snow. The narrow white stripes are crowded for all skiers and snowboarders.

From Sunday it will snow heavily, especially on the western and southern slopes of the Alps. Patience will then pay off, because there will also be no fresh snow on Friday and Saturday. “Since it continues to cool off at night, the slopes can already be prepared for the snowfall with snow cannons,” writes Weeronline.

Snow will start in the French Alps, but later winter precipitation will also occur on the southern side of Switzerland. In the Italian Alps, it will initially only snow above 1,800 metres.

In parts of Switzerland, Austria and later also Italy, Weeronline expects around 30-40 centimeters of fresh snow above 1,100 metres.

On Monday it will stop snowing in many areas due to an unstable wind, but Austria continues to benefit from the winter precipitation. Even then there is still up to 20 centimeters of snow.

The following days the weather will remain changeable in the Alpine countries, but we will also see many snowflakes falling. All in all, locally up to a meter of new snow can fall.
