Good news for the religious: kosher sake will soon be produced in Israel as well

A Shirataki brewery will soon open in Israel for the production of sake. Their produce will be marketed with kosher by the Chief Rabbinate, and thanks to them we too will be able to enjoy drinking sake.

The Anutka company, owned by the Hinawi George family, and Naor Levy, are leading a revolution in the field of Japanese alcohol in Israel, launching a dedicated department “Anutka Nihon Sho” that will specialize and import unique alcohol (sake, whiskey, liqueurs, distillates) from Japan. Among the sake drinks that stand out – Josen White or Bubbly, Tango no Twarko, Cho Karakochi Honjozo, and more. The imported products are probably not kosher, but the sake produced in Israel will also suit the religious public.

The original Shirataki Brewery is a family brewery that was founded in 1855 in the town of Ichigo Yuzawa, and is managed by the seventh generation. Shirataki is considered a pioneer in the sake industry in Japan, thanks to a series of products called Jozen which was launched 33 years ago – Jozen Mizuno Gotoshi and influenced the sake industry in Japan, thanks to a range of light, fresh and floral flavors. The brewery prides itself on using pure snow water that comes from a mountain range called Tanigawa, and the unique rice grown in the Onoma Reserve, famous for the quality of its rice crops.

Andre Hinawi, One of the owners of Anoteca stated, “As part of Anoteca’s growth, we found a growing need to expand our activities and place an emphasis on importing beverages from the wonderful Japan that offers an endless variety of fine and high-quality alcohol. In the coming year, we are expected to introduce a variety of intriguing branded beverages to the Israeli market, in order to continue to shape the culture alcohol in Israel and marching into new territories”.

Guy Bliss, The CEO of Anutka added, “The Israeli public is a fan of wine and alcohol, and in recent years there has been a significant leap forward in terms of the culture of alcohol consumption. Now, as part of a strategic move, we are happy to be the first company to establish a specialized department that will offer hundreds of leading drinks from Japan to private customers and business customers – bars, Asian restaurants, delicatessens, and more.”

Naor Levy, The manager of the Japanese alcohol department at Anoteka and the founder of the sake culture in Israel, “As the founder of the sake culture in Israel, I am happy and proud of the partnership with the company Anoteka, the first to recognize the business vision in this active market and to raise the gauntlet. In Japan, it is true that the consumption of alcohol and sake is decreasing among the younger generation significantly, together However, the export of Japanese alcohol is growing exponentially and at a dizzying pace. Japan, in fact, powers the production of quality alcohol to the countries of the world, so we definitely have to wait for those who come with a respectable supply of products.”
