Good News for Europe, Russian gas supplies are ready to flow again

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Russian gas flow through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline is expected to resume operations as scheduled on Thursday (21/7/2022).

This was revealed by two sources who are familiar with the export plan to: Reuters. Meanwhile, the pipeline, which accounts for about a third of Russia’s gas exports to Europe, is entering an 11-day annual maintenance period.

The source said the pipeline is expected to resume operations in a timely manner, but the volume delivered will be less than its normal capacity of around 160 million cubic meters per day.

It is worth noting that Kremlin-controlled energy giant Gazprom slashed gas exports via the route to 40% capacity last month, citing delays in returning the turbines served by Siemens Energy in Canada.

“They (Gazprom) will return to levels seen before July 11,” said one source, quoted by ReutersWednesday (20/7/2022).

This was also confirmed by Russian President Vladimir Putin who said Gazprom would fulfill all its obligations in full.

“Gazprom has fulfilled, fulfilled and will fulfill its obligations in full,” Putin told reporters in Tehran after holding talks with the leaders of Iran and Turkey. AFP.

Meanwhile, since Putin sent troops to Ukraine on February 24 and the West responded with sanctions against Moscow, Russia has begun to reduce its gas shipments to Europe.
