Hitekno.com – So good news in the middle of time pandemic, in research the latest by para scientist, it was revealed that currently greenhouse gas emissions dropped dramatically by 17 percent.
When humans are threatened by the deadly corona virus, governments in other countries have decided to do a lockdown in the midst of a pandemic. Lockdown is carried out by limiting people’s activities in each country.
Reporting from IFL Science, the journal Environmental Research Letters found that the stratosphere that had thickened is now thinning on a global scale. This is due to greenhouse gas emissions which then decline.
As is well known, the stratosphere is an important component in the atmosphere which extends from 20 kilometers to 60 kilometers above the surface Earth. The stratosphere contains an ozone layer that absorbs the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays.
In the pre-pandemic period, carbon dioxide or CO2 emissions increased by one percent annually compared to the previous decade.
However, due to the reduction in population mobility in the midst of the pandemic, carbon dioxide emissions have also decreased. Unfortunately, in this study, scientists predict that this is only temporary.
This is likely to happen again when the world economy returns to normal. Especially in the midst of the current pandemic, a number of countries have begun to stop lockdowns to encourage economic levels that had slumped.
For now, the pandemic period which is bad news for the whole world actually brings a little good to the Earth which is slowly getting better after the dangerous global warming case some time before.
