This is the highest addition since the latest wave attacked Singapore in August 2021. Friday, Singapore’s Covid-19 cases recorded 348 cases.

The addition of these cases brings Singapore to a total of 124,157 cases since the pandemic struck in 2020. The country recorded a total of 153 deaths.

When cases rose high, the Singaporean government again announced the latest steps towards a new normal (new normal). The move to make peace with Covid-19 was emphasized by Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, in his press conference yesterday.

The rules include simplified health protocols, updates to home recovery programs and further reopening of borders. This rule is expected to be implemented in three to six months.

Specifically, this simplified health protocol will enter into force on October 11, 2021.

“No more complicated flowcharts. Citizens need to be clear what to do if they test positive, or if they come into contact with someone who is infected,” he said as quoted by the Straits Times, Saturday (9/10/2021).

Currently, Singapore is still implementing restrictions on the movement of citizens. Meetings are still limited, residents are asked to work from home and students are still asked to study online until October 24.

The Singapore case is predicted by the government to continue to increase. It could even reach 5,000 or 10,000 per day next week.
