History of Good Friday
It was on this day that Jesus Christ made a sacrifice with His death on Calvary, atonement for all human sins. On this day, Jesus Christ, sentenced to crucifixion, with a crown of thorns on his head, carried his cross to Calvary, where he was subsequently crucified.
According to legend, Jesus hung on the cross for about six hours. His last words were: “It is finished… Father! Into Your hands I commit My spirit” . To make sure that the crucified man was dead, one of the soldiers pierced his rib, from which blood and water flowed out. According to one interpretation, these are symbols of the future sacraments of the Eucharist and Baptism.

According to Christian tradition, the penultimate day of Easter Lent is usually spent in peace and prayer. All the rituals of Good Friday are connected to this, and people have invented many beliefs about the consequences of violating serious rules.
What is prohibited to do today?
On Good Friday there are several strict prohibitions that should be observed. For example, you should not have fun, visit guests or organize loud parties. This is a mournful day of remembrance of the suffering of Jesus Christ, so it is better to refrain from entertainment.
It is also important to refrain from labor on Good Friday. Although it may be difficult to comply with this prohibition in the modern world, it is better to postpone the decision of important matters for another day, if possible.
Household work such as sewing or knitting is also prohibited. Cleaning should be completed on Maundy Thursday.
It is not recommended to work in the garden or vegetable garden, dig the ground or plant plants.
On this day it is important to observe strict fasting. It is forbidden to eat until the Shroud is taken out, after which only bread and water are allowed.
