On May 3, Eastern Christians celebrate Good Friday. This is the most strict day of Holy Week, preceding the Feast of the Resurrection of Christ or Easter.

According to legend, Joseph of Arimathea wrapped the body of Jesus Christ after suffering on the cross and death in the Shroud of Turin.
What not to do on Good Friday
On this day there are many strict prohibitions that must be observed.
Lent continues on Good Friday. It is on this day that he is the strictest – to the point of complete refusal to eat. Only in the evening can you eat some bread and drink water. This should happen after the removal of the Shroud.
In memory of the torment Jesus experienced, no work related to cultivating the land should be done. Any actions during which it is necessary to pierce the ground with iron are prohibited. According to beliefs, if you sow seeds on this day, they will not bear fruit.
Any kind of fun is also prohibited. An ancient proverb says: “Whoever is happy on Good Friday will cry all year long.”
On this day it is also prohibited to do any housework. Cleaning should be completed on Maundy Thursday. You cannot sew, embroider, wash, or chop wood. Other work with metal tools is also prohibited.
