American actress Louise Fletcher, who won an Oscar for her role as a nurse in the cult film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, has died at the age of 88, according to Variety. A representative of the actress said she died in her sleep in her home in France.
In a special American Film Institute ranking, Sister Ratched, played by the actress, was named the fifth greatest villain in film history and the second greatest villain, second only to the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. .
For his role in the film “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, Fletcher, in addition to the Oscar, has received prestigious awards such as the Golden Globe and BAFTA.
