Gomez reminds Formigoni of the reasons for his sentence and the former governor asks Giletti to change the subject

Excited debate a “It’s not the arena” (La7) starring the former president of the Lombardy Region Roberto Formigoni, who, put in difficulty by the director of ilfattoquotidiano.it, Peter Gomez, about his definitively sentenced to 5 years and 10 months for corruption in the trial for the collapse of the foundations Maugeri and San Raffaele, protests with the conductor Massimo Giletti because the topic was not agreed upon.

Formigoni complains about ‘a political use of the judiciary’ in his judicial affair, but Gomez observes: “I followed the trial and read the sentences. I won’t be as experienced as Formigoni, but I haven’t found this thing ”.
The editor of Il Fatto online is abruptly interrupted by Formigoni when he mentions the word ‘bribes’.
“No, I was not found any bribe, Gomez – rises the former senator – Not a single lira was found for me. So where are these bribes?“.
Gomez replies: “Utilities have been found, from travel for hundreds of thousands of euros to the huge discount of one and a half million on the purchase of a home, quantified by the prosecution and by the judges of the Court of Cassation about 6 million euros. But the thing that struck me most personally is this – he explains – in the sentence it is written that there are the San Raffaele hospital in Milan and the Maugeri Institute in Pavia, to which the Lombardy Region gives over 200 million euros for a variety of activities. But 70 million of this amount comes back, through fake invoices and other systems, to a group of friends of Formigoni. This is objective and no one can deny it, because that money has disappeared: it was 70 million in taxes from the Lombards. And this, in my opinion, is a very serious thing“.

Formigoni protests vigorously against Giletti: “First of all I turn to the, why that was not the subject of the broadcast this evening. I do not intend to talk about my trial, because I am in a home detainee condition and I respect this condition. And I ask that the others in the studio respect this condition as well. So please move on to another topic. I was told that another story would be discussed, namely that of annuities ”.
Giletti replies that Formigoni will get the annuity, despite a conviction for corruption, but the former senator reiterates: “Gomez got into the subject, so if he doesn’t anymore, let’s get along“.
