Monaco lost to second division club Rodez in the 1/32 finals of the French Cup.

Monaco went 2-0 up with goals from Manes Aklios (23rd) and Wissam Ben Yedder (37th), but then conceded two goals and lost 4-5 on penalties.

Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin came on as a 61st-minute substitute.

The Russian took the fifth shot in the penalty shootout at 4:3 and could have brought victory to his team, but did not score. Furthermore, Golovin’s teammate Sungutu Magassa failed to make his attempt, and Rodez’s players both times shot straight on target.
