Golkar Vice Chairman Responds to DPD Banten Carrying Airin, Shows Commitment to KIM

Deputy General Golkair Ace Hasan Syadzily responded to the measures taken by the Banten Golkar DPD who intended to carry it Airin Rachmi Diany advanced in Banten Regional Election 2024.

He confirmed that his party will comply with the decision made by the Indonesian Progressive Alliance (KIM) regarding the figure put forward in the 2024 Banten gubernatorial election.

“I must confirm that the Golkar party will adopt policies in accordance with the agreement with the coalition of the President of the Indonesian progressive coalition,” said Ace on the sidelines of the PKB Congress in Bali, Saturday (24/8).

Several parties that are members of KIM Plus, such as Gerindra, PKS, NasDem, PSI, PKB, PAN, and PPP have officially announced the pair of Andra Soni and Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah as a pair candidate for governor and deputy governor for the 2024. Banten regional elections.

Furthermore, Ace did not answer if there was a split in Golkar Banten regarding the figure who was supported to run for the Banten 1 seat.

He only stressed that the decisions made by Golkar in the 2024 Banten gubernatorial election would be in accordance with the agreement with KIM.

“Yes, I think in Banten we will also be consistent with the agreement with KIM,” he said.

Ace also did not answer with certainty whether Golkar would withdraw support for Airin as a gubernatorial candidate in the Banten gubernatorial election.

“We don’t know yet if there will be a release or not, we’ll just see how it develops,” he said.

Previously, the Golkar Banten DPD together with the PDIP DPD announced Airin and Ade Sumardi as cawagub-cawagub candidates in Banten Pilkada 2024.

This confirmation event was announced in an invitation letter issued by the DPD PDIP and Golkar dated August 23. According to the letter, the event was held at ICE BSD Tangerang, Banten, on Sunday (25/8).

The respective letters of invitation were signed by the Chairman of the DPD PDIP Banten Ade Sumardi and the Chairman of the DPD Golkar Banten Ratu Tatu Chasanah.

PDIP DPC South Tangerang President Wanto Sugito confirmed that his party and Golkar will nominate the Airin-Ade duet in the 2024 Banten gubernatorial election.
