Floor leader Golkar in the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Basri Baco hopes for the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan should be able to wisely choose activities, especially in the midst of a pandemic situation corona virus (Covid-19).
Basri’s statement referred to Anies’ visit to the residence of the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab in Petamburan, Tuesday (10/11) night.
Anies’ visit became a polemic because it was carried out when Rizieq was undergoing independent quarantine upon arrival in Indonesia. This self-quarantine is part of the Covid-19 preventive health protocol.
“Supposedly, in that context, the governor must also be wise and can be a role model. And suggested that quarantine should be done, people from abroad must quarantine, the rules are like that,” Basri explained when contacted, Wednesday (11/11).
Basri said that in the midst of a pandemic situation, Anies had made a number of health rules and protocols that the public had to obey. According to him, as a leader, Anies should also set an example for the community to follow these rules.
Regarding Anies’ visit to Rizieq’s residence, Basri considered Anies to have closed his eyes to the rules he had made himself.
“Maybe yes, sensation is more tantalizing than health protocols,” he said again.
Previously, Australian Griffith University Epidemiologist Dicky Budiman said Anies’s step toward Rizieq was an act that was not wise during a pandemic. Anies, he said, could be said to have violated health protocols because he met someone who had just traveled from abroad.
He also touched on Anies who was deemed less sensitive to the outbreak situation. Moreover, according to Dicky, Anies is a public figure who must provide an example to the public.
Anies’s actions are considered to have a negative impact on society. The community, he said, could later violate health protocols by holding meetings, just like Anies did.

Previously, Anies was known to have visited Rizieq Shihab on Tuesday (10/11) night. DPP FPI uploaded a photo of the meeting at Rizieq’s house via a Twitter account, @DPPFPI_ID.
Anies was seen sitting on Rizieq’s right side while raising the thumb of his right hand. The governor of DKI Jakarta is wearing a white shirt with a black coat and black cap. Complete with a mask that covers his nose and mouth.
Meanwhile, Rizieq appeared to be wearing a white robe with a cap of the same color. He also wore a mask.
Chairman of the 212 Alumni Brotherhood (PA 212) Slamet Maarif confirmed the meeting. According to him, the meeting took place at Rizieq’s house in Petamburan, Central Jakarta.
However, Slamet said that the meeting between Anies and Rizieq was only a gathering between the governor and his citizens.
During the meeting, Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Tengku Zulkarnain, was seen. Through his Instagram account, he also uploaded a photo with Anies and Rizieq. Zulkarnain wrote about friendship in the photo upload.
