DPP Party Golkar emphasized the former Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil or RK is being prepared to run as a candidate for governor in the election Governor of DKI Jakarta or West Java.
“Currently Mr. RK has been assigned to prepare us from the Golkar Party to run as a candidate for Governor of West Java or DKI,” said Golkar DPP Chairman Dave Laksono at the Golkar DPP, West Jakarta, Saturday (16/9) yesterday.
Regarding the discourse on RK running for the presidential election, Dave said that Golkar only proposed Golkar General Chair Airlangga Hartarto as a candidate for vice president. He confirmed that the Golkar Vice President’s name was not included in the discussion of the vice presidential candidates. According to him, the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) is still conducting discussions and exploration.
“Currently, the vice presidential candidate in accordance with Golkar Party policy is only Mr. Airlangga. So there’s no need to develop it here and there any more, because the official stance is just that,” said Dave.
Golkar has formed a coalition with Gerindra, PAN, PBB and Gelora to nominate Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. However, until now Pranowo has not announced which cawapres candidate will accompany him later.
On the other hand, RK is starting to be predicted as a cawapres candidate from the coalition supporting Ganjar Pranowo. Ganjar has now been supported by PDIP, PPP, Perindo and Hanura. In fact, RK’s name was mentioned as one of the five names of potential vice presidential candidates for Ganjar according to the National Winning Team, Ganjar a few days ago.
Apart from RK, there are the names of Chairman of Bappilu PPP Sandiaga Uno, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, former TNI Commander Andika Perkasa, and Daily Chairman of Perindo TGB Muhammad Zainul Majdi.
