FAJAR.CO.ID — Secretary General of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto responded positively to Golkar’s statement which did not prohibit former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil (RK) from being a potential vice presidential candidate (cawapres) running mate to Ganjar Pranowo.
“Even though the Golkar Party has provided support to Gerindra and Pak Prabowo, what Pak Agung Laksono said is of course a positive thing, which is part of our awareness,” said Hasto at the Banten Province PDIP DPC Office, Serang City, Banten, Sunday.
Meanwhile, Golkar is part of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition which is nominating Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (capres) for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). Prabowo received support from Gerindra, PKB, PAN and Golkar.
Even so, the politician from Yogyakarta handed over the decision on Ganjar’s potential vice presidential candidate to PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“Later, Ms. Mega will do the processing to determine who will accompany Mr. Ganjar Pranowo,” he stressed.
He said that Ganjar’s vice presidential candidate must be solid, unified, and have the same vision and mission for the future. Then, have responsibility, commitment to fight to complement each other.
Previously, on Friday (8/9/2023), Chairman of the Golkar Party Expert Council, Agung Laksono, explained that if Ridwan Kamil was asked to become Ganjar Pranowo’s vice presidential candidate, it would be an honor and there was no reason for the Golkar Party to forbid it.
“If you are asked to partner with Mr. Ganjar, I think it is an honor and for Golkar, of course there is no reason to forbid him because I am sure that he will remain as one of the Vice Presidents of the Golkar party’s DPP,” said Agung Laksono.
