FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Golkar Party has gathered 1,117 regional head candidates for the 2024 Simultaneous General Election (Pemilu) to discuss the political party’s winning instructions.
“Today the Golkar Party gathered all regional head candidates who will be supported by the Golkar Party, including candidates for governor, deputy governor, regent, deputy regent, mayor and deputy mayor,” said Golkar Party General Chair Airlangga Hartarto at a press conference in Golkar Party DPP office, Slipi, Jakarta, Tuesday.
Airlangga explained that the purpose of gathering prospective regional head candidates was to direct them to contribute to the legislative elections (Pileg), presidential and vice presidential elections (Pilpres), including regional head elections (Pilkada).
“All candidates are expected to win the Golkar Party, together with legislative functionaries, heads of party administrators from the provincial, district and city DPD,” he said.
Airlangga stated that in this way, all forces would unite to win the Golkar Party as well as win the presidential and vice presidential candidate number two Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Considering that the 2024 legislative and presidential elections are only months away, Airlangga is confident that these instructions will be quite effective because the prospective candidates are spread throughout Indonesia.
“That’s enough because these 1,117 candidates are from Sabang to Merauke and they have been given assignments in districts, cities and provinces and will coordinate with functionaries, provincial, district, city and national legislative candidates and most importantly encourage winning the presidential election,” he added.
