On December 30, the movie “Goldfinger” was officially released. On the same day, director and screenwriter Zhuang Wenqiang, producer Huang Bin, leading actor Tony Leung, starring Zhou Jiayi, Yang Tianyu, and Li Jingjun appeared at the Guangzhou Roadshow to share with the audience the filming of the film in front of and behind the scenes.
“Goldfinger” tells the story of Cheng Yiyan (played by Tony Leung) from an unknown boy to a much-anticipated investor idol, and then turned into a “street rat” because of the decline and liquidation of his listed company. In the film, Cheng Yiyan uses all means to control wealth and power, involving several lives and the entire upper class of Hong Kong.
During the post-screening exchange, some viewers shared their feelings about watching the movie: “Cheng Yiyan is the most subversive role Tony Leung has ever played.” Tony Leung responded frankly: “I rarely play such an exposed role.” He revealed that he checked the A lot of information. Facing the audience’s question about whether he yearns to play a villain, Tony Leung laughed and said: “I have always wanted to play some villain roles. No one has given me this choice in the past. This is a rare opportunity.”
When asked about his first experience working with Charlene Choi on the set, Tony Leung praised Charlene Choi for “taking her acting seriously” and said she would always learn from her actors on the set. Director and screenwriter Zhuang Wenqiang also affirmed the actors, saying: “Everyone’s acting skills are much more superb, and the collaboration process was very refreshing.”
Some viewers expressed that they were deeply impressed by the “Slapping Cheng Yiyan” part of the scene between Chow Ka-yi and Tony Leung Chiu-wai, and asked them how they felt during the filming. Zhou Jiayi said frankly that she spent a long time mentally building up during the filming. “This scene really required a lot of courage.” Tony Leung Chiu Wai revealed that he told Zhou Jiayi at the scene, “Don’t worry, for the shooting effect, use as much force as you need.”
“Goldfinger” recreates the decadence and glamor of the 1980s. Director Zhuang Wenqiang said: “I hope to add a carnival feeling to the film to show the absurdity and reality of the case.” An audience member who watched the film for the second time that day also talked about his own understanding, praising the film “Goldfinger” for “revealing the truth in the world of drunkenness and money.” The inside story of capital operations also reminds people not to be coerced by money and become greedy.” The audience’s sincere speeches also prompted the creators to send a reminder on the spot to “beware of financial fraud.” Zhou Jiayi bluntly said that “pie in the sky will not fall”; Yang Tianyu used the plot of Cheng Yiyan’s stock manipulation in the movie “Goldfinger” as an example to remind the audience to be careful with their investments; Li Jingjun said, “Such a thing may happen again in real life.
