The Utah Jazz ends the Golden State Warriors ‘ winning streak in the NBA. After the last nine wins in a row, the Warriors around superstar Stephen Curry suffered an 85:111 defeat against fourth-placed Western Conference.
The Warriors had a much better start, leading 13-0 before Utah returned to the game and by the middle of the third quarter, they were no longer behind. Curry had a bad shot rate of only 38.5 percent and had to be content with 16 points.
The Los Angeles Lakers lost 105:107 to the Portland Trail Blazers at the same time as their 30th loss of the season. LeBron James scored 30 points, Anthony Davis had 17, Russell Westbrook did not play at all with a day before the end of the transfer window due to back problems.
In the East, the Chicago Bulls ended their small losing streak and held third place. The former champion scored 121:109 against the Charlotte Hornets and remains number three in the Eastern Conference behind the Miami Heat and defending champion Milwaukee Bucks. With 33 wins and 21 losses, the Cleveland Cavaliers are fourth after beating the San Antonio Spurs 105-92. With their sixth straight win, the Toronto Raptors made their way to sixth place and a direct spot in the playoffs. The Canadians won the Oklahoma City Thunder 117-98.
