Golden Porsche in Dresden: That’s why the police have it towed away

The police towed a Porsche Panamera Turbo in Dresden Neustadt, which was covered with gold-colored foil. This is not permitted in Germany.

Dresden – In the past few days in Dresden Neustadt it sparkled and shone a little more than usual. From the perspective of the authorities, however, a little too much.

In the morning, officers from the Dresden police arrived on Paul-Schwarze-Strasse and inspected a Porsche covered with gold foil. According to media reports, this has been suspected and searched for a few days in the trendy district after photos of the shiny vehicle appeared on social networks.

“We have now secured the vehicle,” explains a police spokesman when asked by TAG24. “The licensing authority must now clarify whether such a coating or film is permissible.”

The police suspect: “It could be an administrative offense.” In Germany, the golden foil is not permitted in this form. The reflection dazzles other road users too much.

As the owner of the decadent Porsche Panamera Turbo could not be reached, the car was simply towed away and taken to the police custody yard.

The licensing authority is now checking whether this gold foil is allowed. Bulgarian law may also be used for the assessment, since the vehicle is registered there.
