Next week, on February 26, at 8:40 pm, TV3 will present the statuettes of the Latvian Music Record of the Year Award “Golden Microphone” to the best domestic musicians in various categories. This time, Mārtiņš Spuris, the personality of the musical show “Voice in the Mask” and the personality of the show “900 Seconds” and the director of the show “X Faktors” Markus Riva will be the hosts of the event.
Until now, the leaders of the Golden Microphone have been almost the benchmark for successfully staging shows of this scale. The leader with the greatest experience in the history of “MoA” has been the unbeatable Andris Freidenfelds or Fredis, Baiba Sipeniece also played with his stage partner Valters Krauzis for a year, but for the last three years Mārtiņš Daugulis and Kaspars Breidaks have was an incredible find.
Thus, it is clear that the musicians of the ether and the musicians Mārtiņš Spuris (he is a drummer of the band “Franco Franco”) and Markus Riva are expected to be thoroughly tested and fully guaranteed to be in the crossfire of criticism.
“I am looking forward to this event because I have been watching this ceremony since childhood, and it is one of the biggest musical events in Latvia. This could even be a dream come true – from watching in childhood to running it this year. I am glad that I will lead the ceremony together with Mārtiņš, because in a way we are similar – we understand each other very well, we have a similar sense of humor and perception of life, ”says Markus Riva. “When I received the invitation [vadīt pasākumu], it was one of those moments in life when the mind is a little hard to grasp what just happened. After a few minutes, the moment turned into a joy that alternated with a great sense of responsibility. Mark and I have each hosted two different shows, and I’m very excited to be on the same stage, putting our two experiences together to have a wonderful ceremony, ”says Mārtiņš.
This year, the Latvian Music Record of the Year Award for the best music record of last year will be presented for the 26th time. The glorious award ceremony will take place on February 26 and will have the opportunity to be watched on TV3, tv3play.lv, as well as on the next generation television Go3. More than 500 entries have been submitted this year: 165 albums; 37 debut albums; 149 songs; 134 videos; 20 concert videos and 22 album designs.
