‘Golden Microphone’ applicants named; most nominated for ‘Brainstorming’

The young artist Būū is competing for the “Golden Microphone” in three categories, but her song “I Started from the Beginning” was put to a popular vote. The group “Other Boys” has also been nominated in three categories, and their song “Limousine on Chalk” has been nominated for a popular vote. Also a rapper Edwords has been nominated for three Gold Microphone Awards.

The group has received two nominations “Carnival Youth“, multi – instrumentalist Rick Feds, singer Lorete Medne and several other artists.

According to the organizers, more than 500 entries have been submitted this year: 165 albums; 37 debut albums; 149 songs; 134 videos; 20 concert videos and 22 album designs.

The award ceremony for the Golden Microphone Annual Award 22 will take place on February 26.

At the end of January, applicants for the award in the category “Radio hits” will become known, which is traditionally determined by the Latvian Association of Performers and Producers (LaIPA) when summarizing the reports of Latvian radio stations. The recipient of the award for a lifetime contribution to the development of Latvian music will be announced in early February.
