In May of this year, the American TV channel NBC announced that it would no longer broadcast the Golden Globes ceremony next year. The Los Angeles Times then revealed that none of the 87 members of the organization behind the Golden Globes, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, are black. At the moment it is not yet clear whether the show will be shown on a television channel and whether the nominees will be present.
After all, about 100 Hollywood PR agencies have advised their star actors not to attend the award ceremony. And apparently the organization doesn’t expect this either. “It doesn’t look like this will be a star-studded event,” Helen Hoehne, the new president of the Foreign Press Association, told Variety.
