White became immensely popular in the US because of her comedic talent and her fine nose for outspoken roles, in which that talent also flourished.
She would eventually star in 115 shows, soap operas and comedy series, including The Betty White Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Love Boat, The Bold and the Beautiful in Hot in Cleveland. It earned her numerous awards, including several Emmys, Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Grammy. She was also nominated several times for a Golden Globe.
The last time entertainment site TMZ spoke to, White told her she was in the process of creating her own Facebook page. She would have turned 100 on January 17.
