Golden Gala in Rome, Jacobs for revenge on 100 meters with three other Olympic finalists

On August 30th the lights go on for an exciting challenge in the 100 meters al Golden Gala Pietro Mennea – Presented by IP. In the Italian stage of the Wanda Diamond League at the stadium Olympic of Rome four sprinters who participated in the final of the Paris Olympics will meet again: the silver medallist Kishane Thompson (Jamaica), the bronze Fred Kerley (United States), the fifth place Marcell Jacobs who was Olympic gold in Tokyo three years ago, and the sixth in Paris Call Gratitude (Botswana), Olympic champion in the 200 meters at the Stade de France. Four finalists from Paris in Rome

The mind will return to the evening of Sunday, August 4, when an extraordinary 100 final was held in Paris. Seasonal world leader Thompson (9.77 in June) lost by just five thousandths of a second to American Noah Lyles, running 9.79, just two hundredths better than bronze medalist Kerley (9.81), while Jacobs whizzed by in 9.85 and Tebogo in 9.86. Omanyala missed the Olympic final but this year was able to run 9.79, Coleman in 9.86. The race in Rome, therefore, will feature six men with season bests of 9.86 or lower.
