Golden Coast. The Dijon local Mission deprived of its website because of the fire in Strasbourg

On Wednesday, more than three million websites were found out of service, victims of the fire of the company OVH, in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin), where their computer servers are hosted. The Côte-d’Or was no exception, since many business sites, such as DiviaMobilités, the Georges-François-Leclerc regional center, in Dijon, the Bénigne-Joly clinic, in Talant, etc. have been affected. But it was momentary, most left within 24 hours. Unfortunately, not that of the local Mission of Dijon or the municipal media library of Genlis.

“Our server is obviously where the fire started. We are still waiting for some elements from OVH, but our site is no longer accessible at all ”, regrets Patricia Lambert, communications officer at the local Mission. “Our site is an essential tool for the 2,000 young people we follow. We no longer have their profiles. Most of them contacted us through the site, and above all, could consult our “Jobboard”, where all the job offers are listed. This tool was really ideal. It is not yet known when it will be available again. “

A backup that dates back to December

The only consolation for the local Mission: “Luckily, we have a local safeguard, but it dates back to December. That’s already it, but everything that has been recorded in the meantime is lost, ”explains Patricia Lambert. In the meantime, the local Mission uses his social networks to communicate with young people, who can also contact them by phone and email.

Next step, take stock with OVH for the rest. “We want to know if it is possible to recover our data or if it is really impossible. We understand that this is an accident, but out of the question for us to re-incur costs in a server. We hope that their insurance will cover the costs, ”she said. “And that our site will be accessible from next week. ”
